ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST is an American musical television series created by Austin Winsberg that premiered on January 7, 2020, on NBC. The series stars Jane Levy as Zoey Clarke, a software developer who discovers she has the ability to hear the innermost thoughts of people as songs. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on January 5, 2021. In June 2021, the series was canceled by NBC after two seasons. ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST consists of 25 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: The young woman Zoey (Jane Levy), a software developer, discovers she has the ability to hear the innermost thoughts of people around her as songs and musical numbers.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Alex Newell’s character Mo is the gender non-conforming neighbour of Zoey Clarke. Mo often offers Zoey both musical and spiritual advice. Eddie (Patrick Ortiz)  is a recurring character on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. He first appeared in "Zoey's Extraordinary Night Out" as one of Jessica's close friends during her and Simon's engagement party. He began dating Mo soon after.

SPECIAL: Mo and his character are super important to LGBTQ+ viewers around the world because his character doesn’t revolve around the lead. Newell identifies as gender nonconforming and in May 2020 said they relate to their character Mo in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, who is genderfluid. They have stated they go by all pronouns. They also identify as a gay man.
