THE WHITE LOTUS is an American dark comedy drama anthology television series created by Mike White for HBO. THE WHITE LOTUS consists of 14 episodes of 54 minutes.

STORY: An all-star cast heads to a resort to unleash their worst, most privileged impulses. The series is a sharp social satire following the exploits of various guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain, whose stay becomes affected by their various dysfunctions.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE 1: In season 1 Armond (Murray Bartlett) is the manager of the White Lotus resort and a recovering drug addict who has been sober for five years. Outwardly friendly and hospitable, Armond privately despises both his job and the people he works for. Dillon (Lukas Gage) is a young staffer at the White Lotus. In the scene Armond is caught by Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) and Shane (Jake Lacy) with his face right in between the butt cheeks of his employee Dillon.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE 2: In second season is Quentin (Tom Hollander) a wealthy gay British expat living in Sicily. Jack (Leo Woodall) is a charismatic young man from Essex, whom Quentin introduces as his "cheeky nephew". They live lavishly, with villa- and yacht-bound antics that play out in gripping ways. Quentin's "nephew" Jack turned out to be his hired escort. The gays weren't rich either - they had nothing but an old and decaying villa to use as a facade for wealth.

SPECIAL: It's started to feel like most LGBTQ+ characters in mainstream projects are only there as victims (of suffering and/or death), as sassy/wise sidekicks (for comic relief and/or "spilling the tea"), or as stand-ins who seem devoid of personality, goals, and even a sex life. Though we can acknowledge - and appreciate - the course correction. The White Lotus is all about subverting first impressions and assumptions/expectations of who people are and turn out to be, and that's exactly what happened with Quentin & co. in season two.

AWARDS: ‘THE WHITE LOTUS’ won 15 Primetime Emmys. 85 wins & 148 nominations.
