2005-2007

THE WAR AT HOME is an American sitcom created by Rob Lotterstein that ran from September 11, 2005, to April 22, 2007, on Fox. THE WAR AT HOME consists of 44 episodes of 30 minutes.

STORY: The show depicts the daily lives of Dave (Michael Rapaport)  and Vicky (Anita Barone) and their three children, Hillary, Larry, and Mike, on Long Island, New York, dealing with normal family issues. Dave is a middle class Jewish insurance salesman. He is often portrayed as insensitive and cynical, and sometimes as a paranoid, overprotective and hypocritical bigot. Dave's wife Vicky is an attractive Italian-American Catholic part-time receptionist at a doctors' office. Of their three children, the oldest is Hillary (Kaylee DeFer), a typical 16-year-old who frequently misbehaves, trying to get away with bad behavior behind the backs of her parents, who often regard her with suspicion. Second oldest is 15-year-old Larry (Kyle Sullivan), an odd misfit given to emotional outbursts. The youngest child, the pubescent 12-year-old Mike (Dean Collins), must deal with issues such as masturbation, dating and underage gambling.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Larry (Kyle Sullivan) is often seen with his best friend Kenny (Rami Malek). Initially Dave believes that the boys are both gay, but it is later revealed to the audience that while Larry is not gay, Kenny has a secret crush on Larry. When Kenny starts talking to a new guy, Dylan (Jackson Rathbone) they goes on a date. Once he was alone with Dylan he outright screamed he wasn’t ready in having sex yet saying that he's still new to dating and everything but Dylan reassured him that he’s not ready to have sex either and they continued their date which turned out great.

Kenny (Rami Malek) & Dylan (Jackson Rathbone)

RAMI MALEK (2005-2007) May 12, 1981, Torrance, CA, USA

JACKSON RATHBONE (2007) December 14, 1988, Singapore

SPECIAL: After Larry is spanked by his dad, he moves out and moves into Kenny's house which proves to be a rough time as his parents are very strict, allowing only 15 minutes of watching TV. Kenny and Dylan decided to go to the school dance together but the school forbids them from going. Larry decides to protest to allow them to go to the dance, however it proves pointless as they still won’t let them go.

AWARDS: 'THE WAR AT HOME' 8 nominations.
