VICTORIA is a British historical television drama series created and primarily written by Daisy Goodwin, starring Jenna Coleman as Queen Victoria. The series premiered in the United Kingdom on ITV on August 28, 2016 with eight episodes, and in the United States on PBS on January 15, 2017; PBS supported its production as part of the Masterpiece anthology. VICTORIA consists of 25 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: Queen Victoria's (Jenna Coleman) early life, from her ascension to the throne at the tender age of eighteen to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert (Tom Hughes).

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: While enjoying a beautiful sunset in Scotland, Lord Alfred Paget (Jordan Waller) and Lord Edward Drummond (Leo Suter) looked into each other's eyes. Then they leaned against each other and shared a tender kiss. Unfortunately, a heartbreak lies ahead for the couple, with Drummond being killed in the season two finale - when he heroically fends off a bullet aimed at the Prime Minister.

SPECIAL: Robert Peel's private secretary Edward Drummond is said to be in a relationship with Lord Alfred Paget, but there is no evidence that any of the men were gay or had a same-sex relationship. Drummond was shot dead in 1843. Alfred Paget became the Queen's Chief Equerry in 1846.
