UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT is an American streaming sitcom created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, starring Ellie Kemper in the title role. It premiered on Netflix on March 6, 2015 and ran for four seasons, ending January 25, 2019. UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT consists of 51 episodes of 30 minutes.

STORY: The series follows 29-year-old Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) as she adjusts to life after being rescued from a doomsday cult in the fictional town of Durnsville, Indiana, where she and three other women had been held captive for 15 years by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm). Determined to be seen as something other than a victim and armed only with a positive attitude, Kimmy decides to restart her life by moving to New York City, where she quickly befriends her street-wise landlady Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane), finds a roommate in struggling actor Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess), and gets a job as a nanny.

GAY COUPLES STORYLINE: Michael "Mikey" Politano (Mike Carlsen) is a recurring character in Season 1 and Season 4. Originally, he was a closeted gay, but in the final episode, he is Titus Andromedon's boyfriend (Tituss Burgess) until their off-camera wedding. As a construction worker, Mikey is attracted to women, because that's what he saw his colleagues do. It wasn't until he met Titus that he realized he liked men. The couple eventually learned a lot from each other and fell in love.
