THE TUDORS is a historical fiction television series primarily set in 16th-century England, created and written by Michael Hirst and produced for the American premium cable television channel Showtime. The series was a collaboration between American, British and Canadian producers and was filmed mainly in Ireland. THE TUDORS consists of 38 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: It is named after the Tudor dynasty as a whole, although it is specifically based on the reign of King Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers).

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Thomas Tallis (Joe Van Moyland) is new to the court. The endless extravagance amazes and enchants him. Thomas Tallis is a musician, singer and composer whose burgeoning career forms a minor subplot of season one of The Tudors. He is presented as a bisexual youth who is devoted to his music, but gradually begins to appreciate other things in life. “At that moment he felt a warm hand on his waist and Sir William Compton's (Kris Holden-Ried) breath on his cheek as he lifted Thomas' so he could kiss his neck. He melted into Sir William's arms and met again their lips meet in a blaze of heat and sparks.”
