SKINS is a British teen series that premiered in England on January 25, 2007. The first season consisted of nine episodes and the second season of ten. SKINS consists of 61 episodes of 46 minutes.

STORY: The series is about a group of teenagers who are friends and live in Bristol. They are all in the same high school. In almost every episode a character takes centre stage. This means that the entire episode is filmed from his/her perspective and that the character is also central to the storyline in that episode. There are also episodes where there is no specific character in the middle. These are the last episodes of a season.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Maxxie Oliver (Mitch Hewer) is openly gay and has a passion for dance. Attractive, seductive and talented, he is well accepted by most of his friends and family, although there is a dispute with his father over his future. Maxxie meets a new love interest: James (Sean Verey), who is a gay cyclist and cyclist. Maxxie seems very interested and leaves a note on his bike. Maxxie and James move to London together.

MITCH HEWER (2007-2008) July 1, 1989, Bristol, UK

SEAN VEREY (2008) September 8, 1990, London, UK

SPECIAL: A heteronormative story about teenage sexual confusion. In "Sketch", Maxxie is stalked by Sketch (Aimee Ffion Edwards), a young Welsh student who takes care of her ailing mother in the flat opposite Maxxie's. Sketch takes pictures of Maxxie and spells them out on a bulletin board in her room, leaves Maxxie several gifts in his locker, which makes him wonder who they are, makes himself appear more masculine (like wearing masculine clothes and squashing of her chest with a sash) to appear attractive to him, and watches him rehearse a performance with Michelle in a musical.

AWARDS: ‘SKINS’ won 2 BAFTAS. 7 wins & 34 nominations.
