SHANG YIN is a China web-drama series entitled《上瘾》(pronounced Shangyin), which means ‘addicted’ or ‘to be addicted’ or ‘addiction’ in Chinese, was webcast in 2016. In English, the web-drama was known as Addicted. SHANG YIN consists of 16 episodes of 25 minutes.
STORY: Ever since he was young, Bai Luo Yin (Timmy Xu) had been living with his divorced, poor and rather careless father, Bai Han Qi (Tao Song), and his grandmother. When he turned 16, his biological mother, Jiang Yuan (Xiaoye Liu), announced that she was re-marrying and her partner was a rich, high-ranking official, Gu Wei Ting (Dong Wang). Because of his mother’s death, Gu Wei Ting’s son, Gu Hai (Johnny Huang), had been harboring a deep grudge towards his father and did not approve of the re-marriage.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Two high school students, Bai Luo Yin (Timmy Xu) and Gu Hai (Johnny Huang) become entrangled in a wildly emotional relationship that erupts when they discover they are now step-brothers. Will they be able to put out the flames? Or will it burn like never before?

SPECIAL: There’s limited platform to broadcast Gay movies in China. Movies with gay content are banned in most domestic broadcasting platforms like TV stations, cinemas or most On-line platforms by The SARFT ( The State Administration of Radio Film and Television ) . So the producers have no choice but to upload episodes to Youtube to avoid the regulation and then some netizens can download and share through online storage. Meanwhile, Youtube is an international platform which may help the movie attract oversea audience.
