GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Mickey (Noel Fisher) is introduced as the neighbourhood thug, violent and homophobic, but as the series progresses, it is revealed to the public that he is secretly gay. This was noticed when he initially fights with Ian (Cameron Monaghan), but they end up having sex. The pair embark on a secret affair behind the backs of his girlfriend Mandy (Emma Greenwell) and his father. In season seven Mickey returns for two episodes and his love for Ian rekindles. At that moment, he is chased by the FBI and had to flee to Mexico. Ian left his job as a paramedic - to follow him to Mexico, but eventually didn't cross the border when he realized he didn't want to go through life as fugitive, even though he really wanted to stay with Mickey.
