POSE is an American drama television series about the African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming drag ball culture scene in New York City in the 1980s in its first season, early 1990s in the second season and the mid to late 1990s in the third season. POSE consists of 26 episodes of 1 hour.
STORY: The protagonists are dancers and models, who compete for trophies and recognition in this underground culture and who support each other in a network of chosen families known as Houses. Set in 1987-88, Pose Season 1 showcases the African American and Latino ball culture world, the downtown social and literary scene, and the rise of the yuppie milieu.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Damon Richards-Evangelista (Ryan Jamaal Swain) is a homeless, talented dancer who becomes the first member of the House of Evangelista. Ricky Evangelista (Dyllón Burnside) is Damon's ex-boyfriend and a former member of the House of Evangelista who joins the House of Wintour. In the final season, he re-joins the House of Evangelista.

SPECIAL: After the season 3 premiere, the character Damon was written off the show for the murder of Swain's sister in their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Damon is said to have relapsed into alcoholism and moved to his cousin's house in South Carolina. In the series finale, it was revealed that he was in Chicago, teaching dance.
