THE ORIGINALS is an American fantasy supernatural drama television series that aired on The CW on October 3, 2013. It is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. THE ORIGINALS consists of 92 episodes of 45 minutes.
STORY: The Originals revolves around Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and his Mikaelson half-siblings: Freya (Riley Voelkel), Finn (Casper Zafer), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzovic). The Mikaelson family is also commonly known as "the Originals" due to being the first vampires to ever exist. Niklaus "Klaus" Mikaelson is the son of a witch and a werewolf, and his quest for his hybrid character to unleash was previously described in The Vampire Diaries.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: During this season, Josh Rosza (Steven Krueger) meets one of Finn Mikaelson's wolves, a man named Aiden (Colin Woodell). The two fall in love and start dating, but after the latter is killed by Dahlia (as part of the conflict within the Mikaelson family), Josh decides to leave town for a while.

SPECIAL: From season three and four, Josh helped Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) with the wars between the father lines and the Hollow. Josh remained faithful to Marcel and his men for nearly ten years until his final death. When Josh is injected with advanced werewolf venom in the heart, he dies in Marcel's arms. After his death, Josh is reunited with the love of his life, Aiden, in the afterlife and finds peace with him.
