NOW APOCALYPSE is an American comedy television series that aired for one season of ten episodes from March 10 to May 12, 2019, on Starz. The series was written by Gregg Araki and Karley Sciortino. Araki also was director and executive producer alongside Steven Soderbergh and Gregory Jacobs. Starz canceled the series after one season on July 26, 2019. NOW APOCALYPSE consists of 10 episodes of 30 minutes.
STORY: Ulysses Zane, (Avan Jogia) his friends Carly Carlson (Kelli Berglund) and Ford Halstead (Beau Mirchoff) and Ford's girlfriend Severine Bordeaux (Roxane Mesquida) navigate love, sex, and fame in Los Angeles. Troubled by sinister, premonitory dreams, Ulysses wonders if the end of the world as we know it is coming, or if he is simply suffering some kind of marijuana-fueled delusions.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Avan Jogia is a fun lead as Ulysses, a sincere sexually-fluid stoner looking for love + answers, and a South Asian non-straight sexually-active lead. Gabriel (Tyler Posey) is Ulysses love interest. Ulysses is bewildered by Gabriel's disappearance. Ulysses gets a middle-of-the-night text from Gabriel, and reluctantly agrees to meet him. In episode 9 Ulysses and Isaac (Jacob Artist) officially become boyfriends, and Isaac gives Ulysses a key to his apartment.

SPECIAL: The series was never able to find a substantial audience nor much love from the critics. Variety’s Daniel D’Addario wrote in his review of the series, “‘Now Apocalypse’…pushes its tone of oddity to what will likely be the limits of many viewers’ patience, bringing several amiable performances to bear on a story that feels like a warmed-over rehash of sharper material.”
