LOST BOYS & FAIRIES is a 2024 television miniseries, created by Daf James. It is produced and distributed by the BBC. The series was announced by the BBC in 2022. The show was also specified to be filmed and set in Wales in the same press release. Produced by Leeds/Cardiff based production company Duck Soup Films. LOST BOYS & FAIRIES consists of 3 episodes of 58 minutes.
STORY: In Wales, Gabriel (Siôn Daniel Young) and Andy (Fra Fee) are a gay couple who have been together for eight years and are eager to adopt a child. They begin the process of adoption with the assistance of their social worker, Jackie (Elizabeth Berrington).
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Andy (Fra Fee) is excited about the prospect of becoming a father, while his partner Gabriel (Siôn Daniel Young), a drag queen, is hesitant, not only due to his past issues with drug addiction but also because of his unhappy childhood, which was marked by his mother's death and his father's homophobia. Although the couple initially wanted to adopt a girl, they meet and begin to grow fond of Jake (Leo Harris), a child placed in foster care after being removed from his violent father.

SPECIAL: Lost Boys & Fairies breaks ground in more ways than one. Drawn from the Welsh playwright and screenwriter Daf James’ own experience of adopting three children with his husband, the show marks BBC One’s first primetime gay adoption drama. Young’s character Gabriel and his partner Andy, played by Irish actor Fra Fee (Cabaret, Hawkeye), have their trauma rifled through by their social worker Jackie who is tasked with deciding whether they’re stable enough to have a child.
