STORY: The ultimate forbidden love between King Gustav V and Kurt Haijby had to be hidden from the public at all costs. But when it came out, it led to one of the worst miscarriages of justice in Swedish history.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: In a last attempt to save his restaurant, ex-convict Kurt Haijby (Sverrir Gudnason) requests a private audience with King Gustav V of Sweden (Staffan Göthe). To the great surprise of his wife Anna (Sanna Krepper), this was granted to him. What starts as a formal meeting between the restaurant owner and the king quickly turns into a passionate and secret relationship. The Court does everything in its power to protect the crown from impending disgrace.
