HOMELAND (stylized as HOMƎLAND) is an American spy thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War, which was created by Gideon Raff, who serves as an executive producer at Homeland. HOMELAND consists of 96 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is a CIA officer with bipolar disorder, and as Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) is a Marine Corps reconnaissance sniper. Brody was held captive by Al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war, and Mathison becomes convinced that he has been brainwashed by the enemy and poses a threat to the United States. Brody is announced as a war hero, but Carrie begins to suspect that he is planning a terrorist attack on the United States.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Homeland has always been about nurturing and maintaining long-term relationships under intense stress. The father-daughter thing that Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Carrie are up to is the beating heart of the series. This is somewhat reflected in Dar Adal's (F. Murray Abraham) mentoring relationship with Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). Sure, he could be a tough bastard, but he cared about his belongings. The revelation of Dar as a sexual predator preying on the young - including Quinn - was the most shocking item and hard to forgive. It's a good thing Dar Adal doesn't care about forgiveness.
