HEARTBREAK HIGH is an Australian comedy drama streaming television series created for Netflix, by Hannah Carroll Chapman. It is a soft-reboot of the 1994 series first screened on Network Ten. HEARTBREAK HIGH consists of 17 episodes of 50 minutes.
STORY: After a map detailing the sexual exploits of Hartley High's students is discovered graffitied on the wall of the school, all of the students whose names were on it are forced to attend a new sexual education course called the Sexual Literacy Tutorial (SLT, pronounced "sluts" by the students).
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: James Majoos as Darren Rivers, a queer and non-binary student. Will McDonald as Douglas “Ca$h” Piggott, an asexual eshay, drug dealer and food delivery driver. Ca$h hangs out with the wrong people, but also lives with his Nanna and helps to take care of her, and has a real gentle spot hidden deep inside him. When he falls for Darren you think he was a closeted gay kid, but after closer examination he ‘s much than just a average gay teen.

SPECIAL: The series gives a idea to understand what asexuality is. According to the Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) is “an asexual person does not experience sexual attraction, they are not drawn to people sexually and do not desire to act upon attraction to others in a sexual way” Some asexual folks are sex-positive, while others are repulsed by it.
