The program is about the life of a fictional neighbourhood in the German capital Berlin. GUTE ZEITEN, SCHLECHTE ZEITEN consists of 8027 episodes of 25 minutes.
STORY: Growing up, solving life problems, finding one's own identity - these are the main problems that the residents of a neighbourhood in Berlin face as they search for individual life and love forms and have to deal with difficulties at school, at work and in friendships, relationships and family.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: The characters Leonard "Lenny" Coster (Alexander Becht) and Carsten Reimann (Felix Isenbügel) met in the military. Lenny was a conscript and Carsten some sort of officer or something. Lenny had a hard time in the military because he was bullied for being gay. At this point, he didn't admit to himself that he was gay, also because he had a girlfriend, Emily, whom he claimed to be in love with. When Lenny was bullied, beaten and even peed on, Carsten was there to help him. One day at the beach, Carsten touches Lenny when he thinks Lenny is asleep. Lenny enjoys it, even though he tries not to. And then the ball starts rolling. After a fight between Lenny and Carsten and two other boys, Lenny and Carsten end up in the bathroom half naked..... And then their relationship begins with all its ups and downs.
