Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show has been shot in the UK, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco and Spain. It premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and ended on May 19, 2019. GAME OF THRONES consists of 74 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: The main storyline concerns the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Through a web of political conflicts between the noble families who are all vying for possession of the throne or are fighting for independence. A second focuses is on the last descendant of the deposed ruling dynasty of the empire, who have been exiled to Essos and now intend to return and claim the throne. The third follows the Night's Watch, a military command that defends the Empire from outside threats on Westeros' northern border.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE 1: Bisexuality is embodied by Elleria Sands' male lover Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal). When Oberyn sees a line of women in a brothel, he admires the beauty and character of each woman before turning to the young man who is the women's pimp and demanding to sleep with him. Such a beautiful man like Oberyn is not confronted with any kind of contradiction. The pimp/host Olyvar (Will Tudor) simply replies that he is "wildly expensive".

SPECIAL: The show's famous maxim, "If you act in the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die," inevitably leads to many deaths. Part of what makes the show so gripping is that any character, even the main character, can be killed. And these are homophobic times. In most of Westeros, overt same-sex desire is impossible. Many heterosexual characters die in GoT. But in a world where Brunei has just joined the list of pariah nations that have the death penalty for gay males, it could reasonably be argued that the murder of a gay character has more contemporary weight and impact. The list of gay men who are murdered in this show weighs heavily.
