G'WED is a British television sitcom for broadcast on ITV2 and its streaming service ITVX, featuring working-class Liverpudlian teenagers, tackling big issues including grief, sex, diversity and class differences. G'wed was produced by Golden Path Productions and written by Liverpool native Danny Kenny. G'WED consists of 6 episodes of 30 minutes.

STORY: The series follows teenagers from Liverpool as they go about their lives in Liverpool. Reece (Dylan Thomas Smith), who is often a mis-behaving teenager, but always surprises his loved ones and friends, from quoting Mother Teresa, John Steinbeck to his incredibly mature take on grief. Reece ends up on his last warning at school, meets another student, Christopher (Jake Kenny-Byrne), who joins the school and Reece offers to 'take care' of the new boy. The two students could not be any different but somehow become friends.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Ted (Dominic Murphy) Ted is the only gay guy in the friendship group and the show follows him navigating that experience. He’s a sheep in wolf's clothing – he has a really good heart but his guard is up. He is the envy of the school as he starts dating a popular sixth-former Thomas (Campbell Wallace). Ted finds his talk of their spiritual connection beguiling but his date has a secret.

SPECIAL: G’wed doesn’t exclusively star straight white actors. Some characters are Muslim, one is gay, and it’s telling that the show noticeably improves when it shifts its gaze to these supporting characters.
