DYNASTY is an American television series based on the 1980s primetime soap of the same name. Developed by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Sallie Patrick. DYNASTY consists of 108 episodes of 42 minutes.
STORY: In the first season stars Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon Carrington, Grant Show as her father Blake Carrington, Nathalie Kelley as Blake's new wife Cristal, and James Mackay as son Steven, with Robert Christopher Riley as chauffeur Michael Culhane, Sam Adegoke as tech billionaire Jeff Colby, Rafael de la Fuente as Sam "Sammy Jo" Jones, Cristal's cousin and Steven's love interest. The series later introduced Alexis Carrington (Nicollette Sheridan/Elaine Hendrix), Blake's ex-wife and mother of Adam, Steven, Fallon and Amanda.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Sam Jones (Raphael de la Fuente) is openly gay and travels to the US for Cristal's wedding to millionaire Blake Carrington. Sam would later marry Steven Carrington (James Mackay) but their relationship would eventually crumble and they would divorce.

SPECIAL: The reboot changes several elements of the '80s original, including moving the setting from Denver, Colorado to Atlanta, Georgia; making Steven's homosexuality a non-issue for Blake; and turning prospector Sammy Jo from a woman into a gay man. Additionally, in the new series, both Blake's new wife and her cousin are Hispanic and both driver Michael Culhane and the Colby family are African American.
