DYNASTY is an American primetime television soap opera that aired on ABC from January 12, 1981 to May 11, 1989. The series was created by Richard and Esther Shapiro and produced by Aaron Spelling. DYNASTY consists of 220 episodes of 1 hour.
STORY: The series revolves around the Carringtons, a wealthy family living in Denver, Colorado. Dynasty stars John Forsythe as oil tycoon Blake Carrington, Linda Evans as his new wife Krystle and later Joan Collins as his ex-wife Alexis. Jack Coleman played Steven Carrington from 1982 to 1988, was not available to reprise his role and was replaced by Al Corley.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Blake is disgusted by his son's homosexuality and Steven's (Jake Coleman) refusal to "conform" puts father and son at odds. Luke Fuller (Billy Campbell) is probably the great love and great loss in the life of Steven Carrington. Steven had been in many relationships, both gay and straight, but none had such an impact on him as Luke Fuller's.
