DEGRASSI: NEXT CLASS: Next Class is a Canadian teen drama television series and the fifth series in the Degrassi franchise, created by Linda Schuyler and Kit Hood in 1979. It is a direct sequel to Degrassi: The Next Generation and follows most of the same. characters, which debuted in the final seasons of the previous series with the introduction of new characters. DEGRASSI: NEXT CLASS consists of 40 episodes of 30 minutes. 

STORY: Degrassi: Next Class follows the lives of the students of Degrassi Community School, a fictional high school in Toronto.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: The relationship between Miles Hollingsworth III (Eric Osborne) and Tristan Milligan (Lyle Lettau), also known as Triles (Tristan/Miles), began after a kiss they shared in Thunderstruck. They managed to maintain a low-profile relationship until Miles told his dad about their relationship in a moment of anger. They had broken up due to Tristan figuring out that Miles still had feelings for Maya, but after some time on bad terms, they get back together. Tristan later ends the relationship. Tristan and Vijay (Dante Scott) met at the beginning of the new school year. Vijay had a crush on Tristan right away, and Tristan asked him out to try to get over Miles. Though the two had much in common, Vijay angrily ended their relationship when he realized that he was being used as a rebound. Later, Vijay is provoked further when Tristan sends him an anonymous E-mail informing him that he might have contracted an STD from their encounter.
