DA VINCI'S DEMONS is a historical fantasy drama series featuring a fictional account of Leonardo da Vinci's early life. The series was created by David S. Goyer. It was developed and produced in conjunction with BBC Worldwide and was shot in Wales. DA VINCI'S DEMONS consists of 28 episodes of 1 hour.

STORY: A fictional story based on historical characters, the series explores the early life of Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley) during the Renaissance in Italy. He is an eccentric genius who struggles with his inner demons and unruly imagination, while longing for acceptance from his estranged father. Leonardo's works for the House of Medici. He also begins an affair with Lucrezia Donati (Laura Haddock), the mistress of Lorenzo de' Medici (Eliott Cowan).

GAY COUPLE STORY: In real life, Gian Giacomo Caprotti da Oreno, better known as Salaì (1480 – March 1524), was an Italian artist and student and love for Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley). But he doesn't appear in this series. Jacopo d’Andrea Saltarelli (Christopher Elson) was an apprentice goldsmith and male prostitute, sometimes described in modern literature as an artist's model, about whom nothing is known except the details of court records of several charges of prostitution, in one of which Leonardo da Vinci was among the accused.
