CONVICTION is an American legal drama series on ABC. It premiered on Monday, October 3, 2016. The pilot of the series, starring Hayley Atwell, was released on May 12, 2016. On November 8, 2016, ABC announced that there will be no sequel for more than the thirteen contracted episodes; the remaining episodes of the season did air until its conclusion on January 29, 2017. CONVICTION consists of 13 episodes of 42 minutes.

STORY: Former First Daughter Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell) is forced to be head the Conviction Integrity Unit, a branch of the New York County District Attorney's Office. This department is made up of lawyers, detectives and forensic experts who re-examine cases suspected of wrongful conviction. The team has just five days to prove each case.


GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Franklin "Frankie" Cruz (Manny Montana) is an ex-con who works as a forensic technician for the CIU. Frankie spent three years in Queensboro Prison. There he studied forensic sciences. He also developed a romantic relationship with his cellmate, Rey Armas (Ian Paola). Frankie is grateful to Rey for saving his life.

SPECIAL: Both Morrison children are named after former presidents: Rutherford B. Hayes (Hayley Atwell) and Andrew Jackson (Daniel Franzese). final lawyer and extraordinarily handsome. Daniel di Tomasso, a Canadian actor and model, was originally cast for the role. Later, for creative reasons, the whole concept was changed and Daniel Franzese was chosen as his replacement.
