THE CARRIE DIARIES is an American teen comedy-drama television series that aired for two seasons on The CW from January 14, 2013, to January 31, 2014. It is a prequel to the HBO television series Sex and the City and based on the 2010 book of the same name by Candace Bushnell. THE CARRIE DIARIES consists of 26 episodes of 42 minutes.

STORY: Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) is in her junior year of high school in the early 1980s. She asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while navigating the worlds of high school and Manhattan.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Just when Walt (Brendan Dooling) had started to become somewhat comfortable with his sexuality, his resolve will be tested when New York City's AIDS epidemic of the '80s hits close to home. Bad news will strike when Walt begrudgingly allows Bennett (Jake Robinson) to take him to a hip gay club on Valentine's Day, where a friend reveals that Bennett's ex is dying from AIDS.
