BLACK MONDAY
BLACK MONDAY is an American historical black comedy series created by Jordan Cahan and David Caspe that premiered on Showtime on January 20, 2019.In April 2019, the series was renewed for a second season that premiered on March 15, 2020. In October 2020, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on May 23, 2021. BLACK MONDAY consists of 30 episodes of 30 minutes.
STORY: Starring Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells, Regina Hall, Casey Wilson and Paul Scheer, the series follows the employees of Wall Street's second-rate trading firm, the Jammer Group, during the year leading up to "Black Monday," the day on which international stock markets crashed in 1987. The first season follows Blair Pfaff (Andrew Rannells), an aspiring white stockbroker on Wall Street. Through a series of farcical events, he ends up with Maurice Monroe (Don Cheadle), an experienced stockbroker. Monroe plans to use Blair to run a backstabbing business deal that involves buying out Tiffany's family business, Georgina Jeans. Dawn Darcy, the only woman among her colleagues, is running out of patience when it comes to Monroe's reluctance to recognize her worth in the workplace. Her husband wants children, which leads to a crossroads in their marriage. Keith (Paul Scheer), an employee who takes an interest in bullying Blair, is a closet gay who has an affair with a Broadway performer (Jason Michael Snow). Monroe, meanwhile, struggles with the internal turmoil of achieving the high standards he sets for himself, and living under a false identity.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE 1: Black Monday's third episode puts a spotlight on Keith (Paul Scheer). After previously revealing that he was gay, they delved further into the life of the closeted Wall Street trader. On the eve of his son's bar mitzvah, Keith struggles to balance his responsibilities for work, family and his boyfriend Mike (Jason Michael Snow). A night of fights, injuries and stolen Nintendos leads to an eventful party, where the love of Keith's life, Mike, dresses up as Mr. With to save this day.

SPECIAL: Andrew Rannells is openly gay. Rannells has said he's known he's gay since high school. Watkins announced in December 2012 that he had become a single father by welcoming twins Catchen and Curtis via surrogacy. He has been in a relationship with Andrew since 2019. Andrew has explained that Black Monday's sex scenes with his real-life boyfriend, Tuc Watkins, sparked a new kind of terror. In March 2019, Andrew Rannells has published his first book, a collection of essays titled Too Much Is Not Enough: A Memoir of Fumbling Toward Adulthood, about his experience moving to New York from Omaha, Nebraska, and floundering as he tried to find his place in the theater community and come to terms with his own sexuality.
