AMERICAN CRIME STORY is an American anthology true crime television series developed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who are also executive producers, alongside Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Ryan Murphy, and Brad Simpson. The series is the second instalment in the American Story media franchise, following American Horror Story. Each season is presented as a self-contained miniseries and is independent of the events in other seasons. AMERICAN CRIME STORY consists of 30 episodes of 42 minutes.

STORY: The second season, subtitled The Assassination of Gianni Versace, chronicles the murder of designer Gianni Versace by spree-killer Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) and is based on Maureen Orth's book Vulgar Favors. The season investigates the July 1997 murder of legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace (Édgar Ramírez) by sociopathic spree-killer Andrew Cunanan. This season also stars Ricky Martin as Antonio D'Amico and Penélope Cruz as Donatella Versace.

GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: Antonio D'Amico (Ricky Martin) was born in Mesagne, in the Italian province of Brindisi, and later lived in Milan. He was hired as a part-time office administrator by Versace. He met Gianni Versace in 1982 and the couple eventually embarked on a long-term relationship that lasted 15 years, until Versace's was murdered in 1997.
