ALEXANDER: THE MAKING OF A GOD is an American-English television series mixing historical documentary and dramatic reconstructions, based on the life of Alexander the Great, one of the most famous figures of Antiquity. Directed by Hugh Ballantyne, under the direction of Tony Mitchell, the series has been broadcast on Netflix since January 31, 2024. ALEXANDER: THE MAKING OF A GOD consists 6 episodes of 45 minutes.
STORY: Alexander was King of the ancient Greek city state Macedon and widely considered to be one of history's greatest and most successful military commanders. By the age of 30 he had created one of the largest empires in history.
GAY COUPLE STORYLINE: In this six-episode mix of historical recreation and academic talking heads, the historians come out and say it at the beginning of the first episode: “Hephaestion (Will Stevens) was the great love of Alexander’s (Buck Brainwaithe) life.”
